Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. How can I make a consonant join all the vowels and
then hear the sounds together automatically?

First choose the consonant or consonant blend you want to hear. By using the mouse at the chosen consonant and dragging it onto the vowel for example onto the letter "a" you are activly using the keyboard. When you see the consonant joined to the vowel in colour gray you take your finger off the mouse. To hear the sounds joined
automatically together you click on the blue start button again.

The start button is also used to stop whenever you wish. You are in charge.

Q2. Can I listen to any sound of consonants or consonant
       blends separatly, one by one?

Yes you can. You can listen to all the letters on the
keyboard separatly. You only have to click on the chosen
button. A picture also apears that reminds you of the
sound being the first letter in the word of the picture. You can click onto the picture and hear the word pronounced.

Q3. Is it possible only to practice the vowels?

a: Yes, and that is also a very good beginning. You can click on any button you like and hear the sound as often as you decide.

You can also listen to all the vowels systematically and choose from two different kinds of pictures that will appear as well:

1. A picture that has the vowel as the first letter in the word.

2. A picture that shows you how to position your mouth when the sound is pronounced.  It is like looking at the mouth in a mirror when pronouncing the vowel.

Q4. Does every letter or letter-blend in the program include more than one word to listen to?

Yes, indeed. If you click onto the mouse, the right hand side, after deciding what letter you are going to practice, you are opening the vocabulary frame. You can listen to a few words for every chosen letter or letter-blend and read on the screen.
